Jim Eschrich is running to solve real problems for Johnson County families — lower costs, better schools, and safer communities. Practical results, not political theater.
Whenever you find yourself in the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

Property taxes are out of control. Jim will cap revenue growth and move local elections to even years so voters — not politicians — hold the line.
We support data center growth that benefits Kansans, not just out-of-state developers—it’s time to pause and put Kansas first.
A decade of declining outcomes demands real accountability. Teachers need a Bill of Rights. Parents deserve full curriculum transparency.
Common-sense pro-2nd Amendment reforms that target criminals — and leave law-abiding Kansans alone. Focus responsibility where it belongs.
Jim Eschrich has called Johnson County home for 38 of the last 39 years. He raised two daughters here — both graduates of Shawnee Mission West and proud University of Kansas Jayhawks. He became a grandfather in 2024, with two grandchildren now growing up in the same community he has called home for nearly four decades.
His career as a professional focus group moderator gave him a rare skill set: the ability to listen deeply, challenge assumptions, and cut through noise to find practical solutions. He’s bringing those same skills to the State Capitol.
Kansas House District 17 is located in Johnson County — one of the fastest-growing and most economically dynamic counties in the state. The district spans portions of two thriving communities: Shawnee and Lenexa, home to thousands of working families, small businesses, and long-time residents who make this corner of Kansas exceptional.
The district is bounded to the north by Shawnee Mission Parkway, one of the region’s primary east-west corridors. The southern boundary follows W 87th Street Pkwy, running through established residential neighborhoods and commercial corridors. Interstate 435 bisects the district from north to south, connecting residents to the broader Kansas City metro area.
The western portion of the district falls within the city limits of Shawnee, while the eastern and southern portions extend into Lenexa. Key roads within the district include Monticello Road, Ogg Road, Renner Road, and Pflumm Road — arteries that connect neighborhoods, schools, parks, and the businesses that employ District 17 residents every day.
